Mission

We have both long admired YCombinator and appreciated the sheer number of good companies it has helped get off the ground. To us, the idea is mesmerizing. If you stop and think for a second, you will be as jealous of the folks at YCombinator as we are. I mean, one, they are genius at what they do, and two, while they are at it they get to meet some of the finest folks across the planet. It's the best way to keep learning and improvising, by meeting people who inspire you to do things, things that you normally thought were beyond you.

Over the past year, we have realized how hard it is to meet such people. As it got more frustrating by the day, we got more curious to figure out a solution to this problem. They say 'good entrepreneurs are a very rare breed' and so we heard them, pondering for long on how to meet these amazing folks and how to learn from them. Standing outside the YCombinator office's in Mountain View crossed our minds too but that, only goes so far.

That is why we have decided to hack the idea of YCombinator itself, and start our own small incubation house. So here we are, two folks who just got out of school couple of years back, working at startups and big companies both, ready to invest our past couple of years savings in your idea.

Over a year, we are offering funds of upto 1,000,000 INR to support upcoming web startups in India. If you are anywhere like us, you are already excited. This is probably as hacky as it gets to the idea of seed funding. We are excited to help you get off the ground. Our relationship will be based on mutual trust. Something similar to what you share with your family and close friends. The way we think about this, it's less about money and more about being part of great ideas in the making, and discovering awesome friends on the way. We are more interested in the journey, the end we are sure, will be awesome!

So go through the Apply section and show us a prototype. If we are on the same page as you, we will take care of the paperwork and you will get upto 1 million INR to spend as you wish, when you wish.

Typically, seed funding firms get upto 10% of stake in the startup. Since we are as new at funding as it gets, we'll settle for something smaller. To us, the stake doesn't really matter at this stage. As we said, we are in it for the experience and we hope you are too.

If you have more questions, try the FAQ's and please write to us at contact@incipiens.com. We will try our best to answer every question over email, heck we'll call you and go over them on phone as well.
